Atossa graduated from CWRU Law School in 2003 and started her legal career as an associate with Jones Day and later, Calfee, Halter & Griswold in Cleveland, Ohio. Since 2008, Atossa has served as the General Counsel for AlphaMicron, Inc, a leading start-up liquid crystal technology company in Kent, Ohio.

She has been responsible for a full spectrum of intellectual property legal services including: (i) developing and managing a global IP portfolio, preparing and prosecuting US and international patents, developing and managing trademark portfolio, identifying and protecting trade secrets; (ii) drafting non-disclosure, licensing, joint development, strategic partnership and supply agreements; (iii) conducting patent novelty, validity and freedom-to-operate studies and patent and information searches using internal and external resources; (iv) competitive intelligence and patent landscape analysis and applying the relevant data to monetize IP assets; (v) providing legal counsel on product labeling, advertising literature and website content for sale and distribution of new products; (vi) training employees; and (viii) assisting with corporate law matters, including the creation and structuring of new subsidiary companies.

She is an experienced patent attorney with patent applications ranging from biotechnology and medical devices to mechanical, electrical and chemical inventions. She serves as an Adjunct faculty at CWRU's School of Law teaching IP & Business Strategy, Patent Prosecution and Patent Bar Review classes and has assisted in developing the new Master of Patent Practice (MPP) curriculum at Case.

Atossa started her professional career as an endodontist and oral surgeon in the UK, holding Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees. She has conducted biomedical research in both the UK and US, and has a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Neuroscience from University College London, UK and has co-authored numerous peer reviewed articles in scientific journals. She received her JD, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University Law School (2003).

Registered to practice before the US Patent & Trademark Office and Member of State Bar of Ohio.
